Swine flu kills Geneva victim

Swine flu has killed its first victim in Geneva, according to the cantonal hospital. An elderly woman, admitted on December 18, died eleven days later, health officials said on Wednesday.

The victim was suffering from a serious respiratory illness. Sixteen people to date have succumbed in Switzerland from the influenza A (H1N1) virus at nearly one death per 2,400 cases.
