Retail sales rise in December

Retail sales in Switzerland rose 3.1 percent in December 2009 from the previous month, according to provisional, seasonally adjusted figures released on Monday by the federal statistics department (OFS).
The increase in nominal revenues was 2.4 percent, the OFS said.
Real turnover jumped 4.7 percent in December compared to the same period a year earlier, the statistics department said.
