by Jeremy Allen
November 20, 2009 | 10:31
Former hostage Terry Waite, attending a charity dinner Thursday in Geneva, talks to Swisster about the Swiss hostage situation in Libya based on his own experiences and a past meeting with Libyan ruler...
The Briton, who was famously held captive in solitary confinement in Lebanon for almost five years between 1987 and 1991, advises the detainees and families to take heart and hang on to hope. Waite also explains how he was able to keep body and soul together while chained to a wall in a cell without natural light.
